Behind the Scenes: Producing the Specialdocs Physicians Panel

With just 90 minutes and six physicians on a tight travel schedule, we had one shot to capture something meaningful, and we made it count. What came out of it, though, was something far more powerful than just a panel video. It became a rich piece of thought leadership content that authentically captured the heart of Specialdocs' care model.

Authenticity in Every Word

There is no substitute for getting real people in a room together. The in-person format created natural chemistry and elevated the conversation far beyond what a virtual panel could deliver. These physicians were not reading from scripts. They were responding to each other, sharing real experiences, and offering insights straight from their day-to-day work with patients.

As they spoke about their journey into concierge medicine, what drew them to the Specialdocs model, and the impact it has had on their ability to care for patients, the authenticity was undeniable.

Tight Timelines, Smart Planning

Our window to film was razor-thin. The physicians had just 90 minutes between their conference and flights home out of O’Hare Airport. We found a studio perfectly situated between their venue and O’Hare and built the entire production plan around maximizing every minute.

The set featured a clean RGB cyc wall, which gave us flexibility to match the studio’s color with Specialdocs’ branding. We used a three-camera setup to ensure coverage of all the key angles: wide, medium, and close-up shots that allowed us to highlight individual moments and reactions seamlessly.

And yes, we mic’d up six doctors with wireless lavs. That’s no small feat. Our audio team worked quickly and precisely, managing multiple channels to ensure clean sound for both video and podcast use.

We also brought in professional hair and makeup artists to make sure each physician looked camera-ready. With limited time, our team kept the process efficient while ensuring everyone on camera looked clean, polished, and professional.

Thought Leadership, Delivered

From this single 90-minute shoot, we created a powerful set of deliverables:

  • A full-length panel episode

  • Five shorter cutdowns focused on key themes and moments

  • Ten social media clips featuring impactful soundbites

  • Audio deliverables formatted for podcast distribution

This type of content gives Specialdocs not only a thought leadership platform but also a steady stream of engaging, evergreen marketing assets.

Why In-Person Production Matters

Filming in person gives you so much more than better lighting and sound. It gives you connection. Body language, timing, shared laughter, these are the details that bring a story to life. Especially when working with professionals like physicians, who are often more comfortable in an exam room than on camera, a well-run in-person shoot can put them at ease and capture their most genuine selves.

If you're looking to create original content that feels real, polished, and purposeful, let's make it happen. We're here to bring your people—and your message—to life on screen.
